Mission StatementThe Muslim Educational and Cultural Association has been serving both Cornell and the Ithaca area for over twenty years. We are very proud to be an integral part of the lives of many of the Muslims as well as non-Muslims on and off campus. MECA's purpose is both to provide a place for Muslim students and students interested in the Muslim world to be able to interact with one another and to provide an educational view of Islam and Muslim cultures to the rest of the Cornell community. |
The Executive BoardThe Executive Board (E-board) is the primary governing body of the organization. The board meets weekly in order to plan and execute many different events throughout the year including nightly Iftars during the month of Ramadan and Islam Awareness Week in the spring. The board also plans many smaller events throughout the year including speaker series, volunteering events, and social events for the organization. The board is composed of seven main members who are elected to serve a full year term. They are elected during the last month of the spring semester of the previous year.
